HA NOI Traditional Tet market at Metropole Hanoi The five-star hotel Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi will once again hold its traditional Tet market to help travellers discover and experience local Vietnamese culture. During the festive event, there will be bamboo stalls selling local food, fresh products, handicrafts and colourful wood-block paintings from the Dong Ho traditional village. Local artisans will also present demonstrations of chung (square sticky rice) cake making. While wandering in the market, visitors can also stop for a warm bowl of pho and have their portrait painted by a Vietnamese artist. The Metropole Tet market will be open from today to Saturday at the hotel’s garden. Main entrance to the market is on Le Phung Hieu Street. Learn to make sticky rice cake for new year Chung (square sticky rice) cake is a must-have traditional food of Vietnamese people in the Lunar New Year festival.
