I could easily part with dirty Kleenexes and subway transfers. But I struggled to let go of things like shoes when they no longer fit and shampoo bottles when they were empty, to a point where I kissed these items goodbye and thanked them for their service before throwing them in the trash or the Goodwill pile. I had no idea that this habit — attributed to my OCD (which I saw a child psychologist for) — would one day (minus the kissing) find its way into the framework of a self-help philosophy, and onto a hit Netflix series. I could have been a millionaire.
