Hell hath no fury like Taylor Swift scorned . Just ask Damon Albarn, the Blur and Gorillaz frontman, who said something spectacularly silly and sexist about the US pop star – and received a stinging rebuke in front of her 90 million Twitter followers. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times on Sunday (local time), Albarn stuck his bovver boot in it by asserting that Swift "doesn't write her own songs". When the interviewer pointed out that she co-writes them, the 53-year-old Brit said: "That doesn't count. I know what co-writing is. Co-writing is very different to writing." Swift's reply was robust and brutal. "I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging," she told Albarn on Twitter on Monday evening. "You don't have to like my songs but it's really f…ed up to try and discredit my writing. WOW." She followed up her message with the arch: "PS I wrote this tweet all by myself in case you were wondering." Ouch.
